All 2012 club officers should plan to attend the county’s Officer Training (this is a “Local 4-H Event” that can be counted for your 2012 Diamond Clover Awards). The Training will be held TUESDAY, February 21, 2012 at Frederick County 4-H office from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Please call Ms. Jennie at 301-600-1589 or email schiazzi@umd.edu to register by Monday, February 13th. This month's 4-H club meeting will be on Tuesday the 24th of January, rather than on the last Wednesday of the month. We'll be introducing our new project structure and giving the club members an idea of what is coming, so it's a pretty important meeting to attend. It will be 4-6pm, in the Sanctuary. Although we get this information on the health forms, it would be helpful if parents could let us know of any food allergies kids have. One of the projects offered this year during the club meetings will be a Food Science project, so we'd like to know what to avoid/provide an alternative to. If your child has an allergy, please email Jeanette at jomalley@ecologyfund.net.
Folks new to 4-H should also bring a completed Enrollment form.
Finally, any 4-Hers who were age 8 or older on January 1, should plan to turn in their $10 state dues (labeled cash or check to MVM4-H) at Tuesday's meeting. |

It’s the 4-H COOKIE EXCHANGE!!!
At our next meeting (Wednesday, December 21), we ask you to bring as many plates of cookies as you like. After the meeting, feel free to grab whatever plates you see, so long as you take only the number of plates you brought with you, minus one. All the extra plates at the end of the meeting will be taken to the Cold Weather Shelter for the people staying there to enjoy. Thank you! |

Our December 4-H meeting is Dec. 21st right after school. At the end of the meeting, we will have a cookie exchange with a donation to the cold weather shelter. If you wish to participate, please bring your cookies, labeled and on individual plates (wrapped) or in individual baggies. Each plate should hold 3-6 cookies, depending on the size of the cookie. One plate/baggie from each family will be donated to the shelter. If, for example, you bring in 10 plates of cookies, you will be able to take home 9 plates of cookies and one will go to the shelter. We will also be installing our new officers at this meeting. Happy Baking!

This Friday, December 2, right after school, come by the sanctuary and check out the 4-H club. Club members will be on hand to display past projects and talk to you about what they do. The new 4-H year starts in January, so it's a great chance to join us and get started on a project of your own. Students from age 5-8 (age as of Jan. 1) can join the Clovers, and students who are 8 or older as of Jan. 1st can join regular 4-H. We hope to see you there!
